We went to Home Depot for a childrens workshop and Fire Safety Day.  Hattie and Matthew made fire trucks and even got to paint them too.  It is hilarious that these cousins don't look anything alike...their mommies don't either!

 Big surprises...a fire truck AND a Dallas Police helicopter that circled overhead then landed in the home depot parking lot.  The children said, "Ooooh!"

Thanks to Annie for planning such a fun day!  And...we're done.

This is the Rufus Higginbotham house, Jody's great grandparents on her father's side.

John Anderson video clip

The video quality is not too good, but this is John Anderson who used to be on the Roswell television station in the 50s and 60s talking about the attack on Pearl Harbor.  John lost his twin brother Delbert on the USS Arizona where they both served.  On that day, there were a number of brothers serving on the Arizona, but John and brother Delbert were the only twins.  This was on a "Hero Ships" documentary about the Arizona that was broadcast on the Military Channel last week around July 4, 2012.  John was one of several survivors from the Arizona who were interviewed.

This is Hattie Smith Higginbotham of Dublin, Texas.  For the last several weeks, off and on, I have been scanning and posting old photos to Jody's family website.  It is wonderful that we have so many great photos of our ancestors on both sides of my family.  I am grateful to be in a family that cares about those who came before us.
